My family loves this place. We've been going here for years. The rooms and ice houses are always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Edited 12/26/23 - The new owners are also awesome. We had a great stay over Christmas (12/23-12/26). They took over in October and are doing an amazing job running the place.
My first time ice fishing Upper Red Lake. The owners Eric and Jena were very professional and friendly. Chad, Alex, and Joe do a great job of taking care of the work duties on the lake. Learning the drill of how things are done was made easier going with a regular summer and winter customer; my friend Mark. EJ's Beacon Harbor Resort is a class run operation in all aspects! Special thanks to all staff; I had a great time.
Fantastic place & service. Me & my wife wanted a last minute fishing trip to red lake for some ice fishing, we called & they had a room available for us, super friendly & easy going. We fished the first day in our portable & froze, they lined us up with a day house the next day for a reasonable price & we caught more fish than we expected too! The owner was super friendly & very willing to help, he went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed! Will absolutely come back & stay here again. Thank you so much.
Great new owners. 2nd year. They have decent multi person hardwired ice houses for lights and chargers. Heat and electric included. No microwaves or electric coffee pots usage will ensure uninterrupted power. Alex stopped by to see if things were going. Great time and reasonable pricing on upper Red Lake.
We stayed one night last minute. The room was not fancy but it was clean and very affordable, With a full sized refrigerator. The owner was friendly and so were some of the other seasonal guests. It was easy to find. Looked like it had a nice play area for kiddos. If your looking for the Hillton you might want to look elsewhere. We are looking for clean and affordable. This was a win, thank you for hosting us. We look forward to staying again.
First visit for us. Excellent, friendly owners! Fish house was warm, clean and ready to use. On the downside, fish houses were showing age (some graffiti in ours was dated from 2003- almost 16 years ago) and the yard around the lodge area itself could use some tidying up- lots of stuff that had clearly been sitting around untouched for a long, long time. The owners get a pass on the shortcomings, as it is evident that they are attempting some improvements. Won't hesitate to stay with them again.
Wonderful place to stay! Super friendly owners. Fishing off the dock was amazing. The biggest fish I got was a 36inch northern pike! I'm really going to miss there Dog named bear he's such a a friendly dog.
